How we work
NorthCmedia specialises in producing visual communication that puts companies in the spotlight and/or raises them to a higher level with catchy video content. How we work, and what you can expect from us, we have listed for you.
Getting to know you & discussing your needs
Our very first step in a possible cooperation is getting to know you. We take the time to discuss your wishes, brainstorm together and listen to the important details that are important to you as an organization. Depending on the location or country, this meeting can be physical or online. After the meeting, we will have a good understanding of each other’s expectations and wishes. If desired, we can make an offer.
Cost estimate
On the basis of the wishes and details discussed together, we will start working on an estimate and a cost overview. In this, we include all the details discussed, as clearly as possible. The offer can usually (with some exceptions) be expected within a week. The quotation is valid for eight weeks and interim adjustments can be made at any time.
Offer discussion, start of collaboration and cooperation agreement
If you are happy with the services we offer and the quotation, we can, if you wish, go through the quotation with you again. Once all details have been discussed, nothing stands in the way of a productive and energetic cooperation. We will get to work on the cooperation agreement and any other documents such as an LOI and the like.
Starting the production process
The formal part is over. Let’s make magic together! We are going to start with the production process, which has three phases:
- Pre-production phase
- Production phase
- Post-production phase
Pre-production phase
In this phase, we make all the preparations for filming and editing the videos. The following steps will take place:
- Discussing content with the client
- Writing scripts and schedules
- Making a sketch design (e.g. for animations)
- Find presentation/actor(s)/extras
- Writing voice-over texts or presentation/interviews
- Preparing for editing (making a sample sketch, testing the tune, graphic design)
- Setting up and preparing the production team and equipment (location, props and everything else involved in the production)
Production phase
In this phase, we start producing and filming and we bring our written plan to fruition. The following steps will be taken:
- Directing and supervising recordings (direction/camera/light and sound) on location
- Supervising presenters/extras and other external parties
- Filming the content (the size of the team varies per production)
- Collecting footage (shot video content), making a back-up on our server and preparing it for the editor.
Post-production phase
The production is finished, time for editing. This is where everything comes together to create a beautiful end product. In this phase, we always have more frequent contact with each other for interim releases and to discuss details about the content of the montage. The following steps are taken:
- Selecting images (“Kill your darlings”, and spotting the best images)
- Loading and preparing
- Editing the images to a first preview (we will discuss this in the meantime)
- Graphic editing + animations
- Rendering the animations
- Colour grading + (royalty-free) music
- Sound editing and/or possibly voice-over or interviews
- Searching for music (having it specially composed is also one of the possibilities)
- Rendering images and animations
- Preparing the first preview and the following previews until the edit is 100% to your liking
- Delivery of the edit
